Each of our rooms is designed with dignity, comfort, and safety in mind, while varying in size and aspect.
Our rooms are bright and airy, with comfortable furnishings.
Every room comes equipped with a divan/profile bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, armchair, call bell system, television point, television, Wi-Fi, en-suite facilities.
Many of our rooms also benefit from additional features like scenic views and direct garden access.
We actively encourage residents and their families to bring personal items or furnishings that evoke comfort and cherished memories.
We believe that by encouraging residents to surround themselves with personal treasures, we help ease the transition into care and foster a profound sense of belonging.

We offer a variety of regular in-house services:

- Chiropodists – 6-8 weekly
- Bi-Weekly, in person GP rounds
- District nurse visits
We can offer additional services from external companies that can come to the home where required, this includes but is not limited to:

- Ear wax removal services

Lounge
At Tendring Care Home, we understand the importance of having comfortable and engaging communal spaces. That’s why we offer two distinct lounges, each thoughtfully designed to cater to different moods and preferences, ensuring our residents always have a welcoming place to relax, socialise, or enjoy quiet time.
Our two lounges provide the perfect balance between vibrant social interaction and peaceful relaxation, offering flexible spaces where residents can choose how they wish to spend their time, always in comfort and within a supportive environment.
The ‘front lounge’ is the busier lounge of the two, this is where most of our residents gather and enjoy socialising. This lounge is where most of our in-hour activities are hosted, we also use this lounge to watch films, listen to music and reminisce.
Our ‘back lounge’ is the quieter lounge which offers a more tranquil setting, perfect for those seeking a quieter space to read, engage in a gentle craft, or simply enjoy a moment of peaceful reflection. In this lounge our resident usually watch live TV, this includes the news, soaps, sports and chat shows.
Lounge Features
- Both lounges are furnished with a variety of high-quality, comfortable seating options. You’ll find supportive armchairs with appropriate back heights, designed for ease of getting in and out, promoting comfort even during extended periods of sitting.
- Large windows in both lounges allow an abundance of natural daylight to flood the space, creating a bright and uplifting atmosphere.
- Our lounges are decorated with a warm, inviting colour palette and familiar furnishings, creating a comforting and reassuring environment that feels just like home.
- Both lounges are easily accessible for all residents, including those using wheelchairs or mobility aids.
- Both lounges have direct garden access so resident can come and go as they wish.

My mother was at Tendring Care Home for nearly 3 years. She died at the age of 99 on her actual 99th Birthday. She was well cared for by all the staff, who were very king and sympathetic. She had a lovely room which was kept clean and tidy. Lovely to have everything done for you including laundry after a lifetime of Mum looking after others.
